Influenza (Flu) Vaccine, what's your opinion?:"Everyone is scrambling to get a flu shot this year, I'm wonder what the big fuss is all about? Is it only because we all want whatever we can't have?? Is the media causing the "crisis"?
In the past, everyone pretty much ignored the flu shots, most of the people I know actually declined it. I understand why it would be beneficial for us, as healthcare professionals, but it's the general public that is freaking out about not having one."

Workplace Violence, Nursingdiscussions.com:"In a unit I work in, a Doctor had attacked a male nurse.
The doctor had arrived to the unit angry and "running his mouth" how nobody knows what they are doing. When actuary a family dr. sent a patient by car to the hospital with chest pain. The patient was having a MI. The doctor in this case is a cardiologist who was consulted. Any ways, a nurse walked up to the dr and said, " I guess this ones going to the cath lab. All at once the dr jumped from the chair, grabbed the nurse by the throat choking him. This action was in front of the patient and many visitors."

Can't take blood pressure, Ultimatenurse.com:"I am trying to help my wife out. She is in her senior year of her nursing program. She has never been able to take blood pressures accurately. The way she describes her problem is that she hears her own pulse in the stethoscope instead of the patients. She doesn't seem to be getting any help from her instructors, in fact the current instructor is "God's infallible gift to nursing" so therefore can not imagine anyone else having problem that is legitimate. Has anyone heard of someone else having a similar problem? How did they work around it? My wife's instructor says she aware of some nurses paying other nurses to take BP's for them because for one reason or another they are unable to. Thanks in advance for your help."
